First seen at the recent CES the LG X20 has now passed the FCC and is coming soon.

According to Wireless Goodness, the X20 will be released in the United States, Europe, Canada, Australia, China, Singapore and India with one of the following model numbers: LG X20, X200, XB200, XD200 and XV200. It would appear that the netbook will sport a different model number depending on the region.

The 10.1″ screened netbook, weighing just 1.2 kg (2.6 pounds) will come pre-installed with Windows 7 and is powered by the Intel Atom N450 processor, Intel 3150 GMA graphics and up to 2GB RAM.

It is said that the 1366 x 768 resolution TFT colour LCD screen will sit underneath a 1.3 mega-pixel webcam and above a chiclet style keyboard.

It is expected that both Bluetooth and 3G will be supported on board, so we may expect to see a flurry of offers from the likes of Vodafone and O2, bundling the X20 with a mobile broadband contract.

No details of the release date or pricing model just yet, but we will add them as soon as we have them.

LG is reported to be putting the brakes on its netbook and laptop strategy, and concentrating on the smartphone market. The company has apparently cited the current economical situation as the reason. Since LG has up to now released only a single model, the X110, some might think that this is in fact not much of a change of strategy.

The company’s next netbook offering, the X120 is due for release during the coming months, although it could be a while until the one after that.

It is expected that LG will make a full return to the netbook scene in 2010.
