Dell Mini Netbook Roadmap Leaks – Dell Mini 11 Coming
According to the news at netbooknews.de, it looks like someone at Dell has sent an internal Mini Netbook Roadmap presentation to the wrong person.
According to the slides the Dell Mini 10 is due for a revamp in the coming weeks, with the first options being added as soon as the 17th April. Expected are, among others, a 250GB Hard-drive, Ubuntu, a built-in TV Tuner, the Intel N280 processer, a 6-cell battery. A 2GB Memory option looks set to be added in May.
With the multi-colour option Dell Mini 10 Bear, the company looks to be targeting the “youth social networking/entertainment” with what is described as a “vacation/coffee shop companion” (whatever happened to taking your boyfriend or girlfriend with you?).
The addition of a Mini 11 to the range later this year is also an interesting move, since Dell already offers a Mini 12. Unlike most things, that get smaller over time, such as the Playstation II, netbooks currently seem to be swaying backwards and forwards in an attempt to find the answer to “what is the best size for a netbook?”
